phoning it in

over the past several months, real life has been getting in the way of my photography hobby. frigid temperatures and being constantly on the go has kept me from getting outside and wandering with my bulky dslr. but recently, i discovered a fun little iphone photo app called hipstamatic, and it has rekindled my interest in photographing everyday sights. hipstamatic captures vintage looking images using a wide range of different lenses, films, and flashes. the infinite number of combinations certainly keeps things interesting. it’s just perfect for a girl like me who gets bored so easily.

hello, my name is katie

back from the wilderness

last week, my brother mark and i embarked on an adventure in yosemite national park. i flew out to phoenix to meet him, then we drove up to the park and camped in the mountains for 5 days. the weather was beautiful and we had a great time. my camera malfunctioned though, perhaps due to the cold and/or moisture. i’m not sure what went wrong, but i was stuck on a single shutter speed for the majority of the trip. i still managed to get some good shots though. here’s a peek at the first batch. enjoy.
